Mother’s Day Special

Motherhood -- an opportunity to see your heart walk outside your body.

Today, the entire country celebrates mother’s day. A day dedicated to motherhood, a day dedicated to the maternal bonds filled with unconditional love and understanding. A mother understands her child, even before the child learns to speak or mummers.
Speaking to a few mothers, they described the true experience of motherhood as a maternal bond that teaches a woman a lot more things like patience, caring, nurturing and even the joy of giving. And hence this day is indeed, a day of celebration of a mother who over the years have shaped and helped the blooming of human life.
Reema Casseres, from Kuwait, a mother of an infant said, “A women would truly understand motherhood only when one becomes a mother herself. Life completely changes, there’s no longer a word called “me” in the picture but “us” the mother and child. It’s one of the best things that could ever happen to a woman. When we do things for our children, it just helps us to understand the amount of trouble our parents have taken, while bringing us up. Being a mother gives you the opportunity to see your own heart walk outside your body.”
Rosy Rodrigues, from Calangute, who has a 10 year old daughter, too felt that a child is the most wonderful gift; one is given to cherish.
Rodrigues said, “Being a mother, is very rewarding and at the same time it’s also very challenging. Despite, being so busy in my everyday life, the happiest thing is to see my little daughter growing up. After a tiring day, getting a big tight hug from my daughter is the best gift, any mother could ever get. As every day passes by, the bond that I and my daughter shares gets even stronger and deeper; these are memories I will cherish for life.”
Speaking to another mother she said, “Motherhood is a bag of mixed emotions and experiences, it vastly ranges from times of happiness and pure joy to times where you just pull your hair out and turn to an angry bird, however by the end of a day, everything is forgotten and you are forgiven. It is an unending job, often tasking and thankless but then when you look at those sweet innocent smiles of your little ones, you wonder how you ever did without them! It is unexplainably rewarding!” said Daisy Carvalho, a dentist from Mapusa.
Odette Mendes, a teacher, residing in Mapusa said that being a mother, especially of a teenager, has bought along with it great responsibility.
Mendes said, “In today’s fast - tech world, where teenagers are falling prey to various bad influences. As a mother of teenagers, I have to be vigilant enough about the things that my children do. Though I don’t want to restrict them, I have given them ample freedom, but they should understand that freedom always brings along with it, a great deal of responsibility.”
Venita Gomes, a student, from Margao said, “It’s just because of my mother. I don’t have to worry much about anything. I’m completely dependent on her for all my works. She’s always been there as a friend. She has understood me, sometimes more than I do.”
Lokesh, a student from Calangute, too agrees with Venita, he too feels without mother, one’s life is incomplete.
He said, “Mother is always there with the child, sometimes as a friend, while sometimes as a concerned mother, sometimes just as the backbone of the house. A mother is always, the person who wants to see her child happy. She’ll stay hungry but won’t let her child remain hungry. Despite the hardships faced while bringing up a child. A Mother does it happily and always with a smile. Life’s completely incomplete without her.
One can only experience the worth of motherhood, understand the sacrifices of a mother only when, one becomes a mother. Love your mother as the amount of sacrifices they have done cannot be undone but all what a mother wants in return is a little love and appreciation!!!!!
Happy Mother’s Day!!!
